Relationships
................................................
Whether it be with friends, family, spouses, etc. relationships in general are a challenge. Relationships while working 30+ hours a week while being in an extremely demanding program really puts you through a whirlwind. When I first found out that I was accepted into nursing school I was nervous and scared. Not only for the simple fact that nursing school is difficult, but that I knew I would have a very minimal social life and very little free time. Throughout the past year I have lost many friends and have had to miss opportunities to see family, go to family events, and even miss holiday gatherings. I have never had to work on a holiday since I had only had jobs where I did not have to work holidays or even on Sunday due to the fact that they were closed on those days; but now, things have changed! I worked my first holiday on Easter and was not able to attend an Easter service with my family.

Even though I have lost out on a lot of opportunities throughout the nursing program; it has brought many new friendships. Friendships / relationships with others in which I know my worth. I go to school with a group of people who are very loving and caring yet continuously push each other to do our best. I was worried that when I decided to go to a school far from home that I would not make many friends and it would be extremely difficult to get by on my own there. Little did I know, God had a plan. He knew exactly what was going to happen and I sure am happy I decided to go to school where I am going. From being squished in the back of cars, to numerous coffee runs, late night study groups, and taco dates. The group of friends I have made is truly a blessing.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11
