It's a new year. 2019. It's the year we finish. It's the year that we become who we have always wanted to be. It's the year that we can see all the stress, anxiety, sadness, excitement, joy, tears of joy and tears of fear. It's the year that we can finally say WE DID IT!
It's the year we become RN's!

Christmas break was very relaxing and much enjoyed; although, we still had some studying to do. It was also filled with lots of preparation for our final semester of nursing school. Trying to make sure everything was in order and ready to go. New books ordered, bags cleared out and re-filled with what we needed for the upcoming days of lecture and clinicals.

The new year came and I had to just take a step back and really think to myself "how is it that we are already about to start our last semester of nursing school?". If someone had told me 7 years ago that I would be becoming a nurse this year, I wouldn't believe them. In fact, someone did tell me that. I remember the day exactly and it was not even something I could even think about. One of the lowest points in my life. The dream that I had always had of becoming a nurse; it went away that year. I never imagined myself here after that; but, here I am. 2019 and graduating in May.

We are starting our 4th week of our final semester and have our first of 3 big exams coming up. Lots of preparation and much more to be done but we've got this! It has been an interesting semester so far as I started my first psych rotation a few weeks ago and it has been filled with lots of different situations and scenarios which has brought many new learning experiences. As far as working as a tech; I work as a float but lately have been working in the ICU & CVICU while getting the opportunity of being exposed and surrounded by all of the things we are going over in class so everything is coming into play, falling into place, and making sense as I'm learning these things at the same time not only in school but also being taught by the nursing staff.

The pictures above are a few of the things that I have gotten over the past few months and love. My sister painted the artwork in the first picture for me for Christmas. My parents gave me the dunkin' cup to fulfill my coffee obsession before class and clinicals every morning. The last picture is of a bracelet that my dear friend, Hanna was selling as a fundraiser as a part of her own nursing school journey. Peace is what we all need in nursing school. Things can get very stressful and busy that sometimes we just need to step back and sit in peace and remember why we chose this profession. With that being said, we are 97 days (not that anyone is counting) until we graduate as Registered Nurses.
