3.22.19

This upcoming week is our final week of clinicals as a group. After this week, we will all be on our own with a preceptor on different units in many different facilities. We started this semester off with our Psych rotation and have been on a cardiac unit for a majority of the semester. Now, with only one week left on the cardiac unit, everything is starting to really hit us that we are almost done even more so than before. This semester so far has been one filled with many experiences and opportunities. Many new things learned and put into practice; making us feel like a real nurse and not just a student.

A look back at a few of the things done throughout this semester....

Volunteering at Halifax Urban Ministries homeless shelter. This semester we were required to have 9 hours of community service. One of my classmates and I decided to volunteer at the local homeless shelter. It was honestly a really interesting a neat experience. We got to learn about how they run the shelter and what criteria must be met in order for individuals and families to stay there. We also learned about how local restaurants and business come together to help out the homeless community.

One of my sisters is getting married!!! Two of my other sisters put together an awesome bridal shower for Hannah and it was awesome to get to see everyone come together and celebrate her new chapter in life. Congratulations Hannah & Joshua!

Throwing it back to grad picture day!

These two lovely ladies have been by my side non-stop throughout everything this program. They are always providing support, encouragement, laughter, and always present. I couldn't thank them enough for everything they do.

This lady right here has been there since our very first semester of school. From learning the basics of vital signs to the more critical things like ventilators. She was also there for me the day I found out my grandfather was sick and there for me the second I found out he had passed. This lady has definitely been there through it all. Love you mucho!

I can't forget to mention my best friend! Throughout the semester I have been able to travel back home and visit this lovely lady and her new BABY! I am so happy for you and Daniel. Jackson is such a cutie. Although, I haven't been able to go back home to visit often, this lady never lets a day go by without saying something encouraging and uplifting. The love and support she gives me is absolutely amazing. I have been blessed beyond measure with her love and presence.

This handsome man has been one of the greatest support systems throughout our time together since day one of meeting. I love the time we get to spend together. Even if it means sitting in the backyard while I study and he sits with me. Goober (the pup) even enjoys sitting with us! Wherever we go, I am always bringing stuff to study or read and he makes sure that school is put first before anything. I am very grateful and excited to see where life takes us.

Heres to the final 48 days of nursing school! A lot to accomplish and many new things to follow.
